Introduction to Botswana

Botswana is home to some of Africa's finest wildlife landscapes and is thus ideally suited to safaris.  The country has some of the most pristine environments in Africa with approximately 17% of its land surface protected as National Parks or Game Reserves.

The Chobe and the Okavango Delta are Botswana's flagship wilderness regions and comprise the very best that Botswana has to offer.  These areas contain some of the most luxurious lodge accommodations in Africa and these are typically accessed by light aircraft, an incredible experience in itself.  Both the Chobe and the Okavango are located in the North of Botswana, above the main chunk of the Kalahari Desert that lies to the south.  Chobe is home to the World's highest concentration of African Elephants and the Okavango is the globe's largest inland delta.  Both areas are teeming with wildlife and you are guaranteed to have a special safari experience by visiting either of these destinations or combining them both in your itinerary.
